Roanoke VA., May 24, 2019 – The Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport continues to see 2019 traffic increase with April traffic up 10.7% on a year over year basis. April 2019 saw 58,623 passengers fly via ROA compared to 52,957 in April of 2018 an increase of 5,666 passengers.
The Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport continues 2019's strong growth with March traffic up 11.6% on a year over year basis. Compared to March 2018 passenger traffic grew by 6,041 passengers. In March of 2019, 58,136 passengers flew via ROA compared to 52,095 in March of 2018. Year to date, passenger traffic is up 10.7%.

The Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport continues to see 2018 traffic increase with September traffic up 5.0% on a year over year basis. September 2018 saw 52,860 passengers fly via ROA compared to 50,313 in September of 2017 an increase of 2,547 passengers.
The Roanoke Regional Airport Commission is pleased to announce the fifth installment of the Art in the Airport program. The program features local artists and provides them exposure to over 1,000,000 annual visitors to the airport. This quarter the works explore summer in the region.
The Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport continues to see 2018 traffic increase with May traffic up 13.9% on a year over year basis. May 2018 saw 61,261 passengers fly via ROA compared to 53,772 in May of 2017 an increase of 7,489 passengers.

Today the Roanoke Regional Airport Commission will swear in two Captains in the Public Safety Department at 12:30 p.m. at the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport. This is part of an ongoing process in developing a fully staffed department responsible for maintaining public safety and offering firefighting and EMS services.
For the sixth consecutive month the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport posted a year over year increase in passengers utilizing the facility. February 2017 data showed a 5.8% increase in guests flying into and out of the airport compared to 2016.
The Roanoke Regional Airport Commission is pleased to announce that passenger traffic increased by 1.95% for the calendar year 2016 over 2015, the increase resulted in 608,288 passengers using the airport in 2016. The growth translated to an increase of 11,617 passengers over the 596,671 who used the facility in 2015. The increase in passenger traffic was the first increase since 2011.
