
Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport to conduct live burn training
Aircraft rescue and firefighting live burn training will take place July 28–30 and August 6–8 at Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport.
The training will be conducted using an aircraft rescue training simulator in Lot 18 in the proximity of the air traffic control tower and Piedmont Airlines hangar. Fire and smoke will be visible. The training activities will not impact flights arriving into or departing from ROA.
Participants will include the Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport Public Safety team and fire and public safety first responders from across the Commonwealth.
