What:

  •  The Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport Public Safety Office would like to advise the media that it will conduct aircraft rescue and firefighting live burn training May 2-4 at the airport. The training will not affect flights arriving or departing from the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport. The live burn training will be conducted using an aircraft rescue training simulator. Media are invited to attend the training in person at the airport to see the training process and capture b-roll and interviews on May 3rd at 10 a.m.

Director of Public Safety Ben Cook will be available to speak with media on May 3 at 10 a.m. Members of the media will need an escort to the secured training area. Please contact Alexa Briehl to coordinate.
